Boarsome U8's bag the medals
Bradford HC Boars U8's on the podium at Harrogate U8 tournament.
An incredible day in Harrogate for Bradford’s youngest team. It had it all - stunning debuts, ruthless attacking hockey and solid defending all round. Due to a score recording error they finished 3rd officially but actually came 2nd!
Without further ado, here are the scores.
- Huddersfield Dragons 3-0 win
- Adel Panthers 0-0 draw
- Adel Cheetahs 7-2 win
- Slazenger 2 3-1 win
- Slazenger 1 3-0 loss
- Ben Rhydding 1 4-2 win
- Harrogate 2-0 win
This was quite simply an excellent effort from every player involved. Sam and Elsie came into the team for their debuts and were fantastic, promising hockey careers await. Seb offered a strong tackling threat to keep his opponents on the back foot and even bagged a goal from centre back. Hunter and Callie seem to have aged a few years since the last tournament and were hounding every opposition player for the ball (and winning it!), not to mention 4 goals for Hunter!! Charlie truly did it all, defended with a cool head, assisted several goals and scored 5 of his own! Then there’s Austen who simply couldn’t stop scoring, 9 goals!!
The future is looking very bright for the young guns of Bradford Hockey Club, maybe they can show the senior section a thing or two about goal scoring…
