BHC Mens 1's v's Acomb

With a threat of frost, the morning warmed up enough to welcome Acomb and Bradford Men's 1s.

Both sides were eager to strike first, which led to a lot of turnovers, a few cards and very patchy hockey early on. Acomb utilised their aerials and managed to win a short corner which was firmly dealt with by Danny in goal.

Bradford slowly warmed into the game winning multiple short corners, hitting the bar and a brilliant solo run from Jonny finding the back of the goal - but not before the whistle. 20 minutes in Isaac managed to break the ice, picking the ball out the air and then slotting it home. Kudos to the Acomb keeper who managed to keep the score to 1-0 going into half time.

In the 2nd half Bradford pressed harder and higher, utilising the space across the pitch better. It was only a matter of time before Ben B's shot off the keeper was tapped in by top scorer George P.

With increased confidence Bradford began to show why they are contenders for the title, with a beautiful deflection goal from George R, a rocket reverse from Isaac, and Nick's shot from the top of the circle deflecting off a player on the way in.

Final score 7-0
